Brand Strategy, Brand Identity System, Web Design
Project Summary
Bustling Spaces, a Chicago-based organization supporting artists, community groups, and creative entrepreneurs in historically disinvested neighborhoods, required a cohesive visual identity to reflect the depth and energy of its mission. While the organization had already been active in the community, the absence of a defined brand system limited its ability to communicate credibility and fully express its impact.
The visual identity draws inspiration from Chicago’s rich arts history and the vibrancy of its mural culture. The design language embraces movement, boldness, and expressive visual rhythms — capturing the resilience and creative vitality often found within urban spaces navigating economic constraints. The system was intentionally crafted to feel dynamic, human, and deeply connected to the cultural fabric of the city.
Alongside the identity, the website experience was designed to provide clarity, accessibility, and storytelling flexibility. The digital presence allows Bustling Spaces to more effectively showcase its programs, partnerships, and community-driven work. Together, the brand and web design establish a confident and recognizable presence aligned with the organization’s role as a supporter and amplifier of local creativity.
