Project Summary
I served as Creative Director for the Equity Learning Lab (ELL) project, a multi-year initiative supporting 38 health equity organizations in advancing racial equity. My role was to define and guide the visual direction of the project while providing strategic oversight and design support to the graphic and UX/UI designers and web developer.
The primary challenge was translating a deeply emotional, nonlinear equity journey into a cohesive digital experience—while balancing a funder-aligned, minimalist aesthetic with the need for warmth, joy, and cultural authenticity.
Under my direction, we delivered:
1. A cohesive visual identity system rooted in clarity and vibrancy
2. A structured, user-friendly website housing diverse tools and resources
3. A branded report series extending the digital creative direction across platforms
This project reflects my ability to lead design teams through complexity, provide constructive critique, and ensure strategic alignment between storytelling, user experience, and visual execution.
