I am Sandiel Thornton, a graphic and web designer based in the Washington, DC area. I have 15 years of experience in managing design projects from inception to execution. My combined experience, working as a full-time designer on in-house design teams and as a part-time freelancer has given me insight on the intricate needs and details to help serve entrepreneurs and corporate clients.
I was introduced to “graphic design” in high school. However, prior to that I remember using Microsoft Publisher to create flyers, posters, programs, book reports and other school projects. In college, I initially pursued a degree in Architecture, only to realize that I didn’t enjoy process of designing a building. However, I enjoyed designing the presentation boards for the final critique of each project. So, after three semesters as an architecture student, I switched my major to graphic design and never looked back. As a designer, I really enjoy branding strategy and visual identity projects, working with clients to develop and tell their brand stories.
When I’m not working on my latest projects, you can find me engaging in other art forms, namely cooking, personal styling and interior decorating. I also practice yoga and meditation for personal growth and its health benefits.
